FISHBONE WATER-FERN
It is an abundant fern growing up to a metre tall in eastern Australia. Seen in rainforest and eucalyptus forest. Often in colonies by creek banks.
Structural Adaptations:
The fern grows horizontal underground stems so they are able to take in water at the surface when it first reaches the soil. The fern produces spores from the ferns which drop off so they are able to reproduce. Physiological Adaptations: The fern it lives in wet habitats as it requires large amounts of water to survive.
